We are looking for an experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist who is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of the organization’s billing and payment cycles. This role supports the financial health of the organization by managing claims, payments, and accounts receivable while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to delivering excellent service to patients, payers, and internal teams.

You will be responsible for:

  • Billing & Claims Management:
    • Preparing, submitting, and following up on insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
    • Monitoring claim denials and working to resolve issues through correction, resubmission, or appeals.
    • Submitting prior authorizations, as needed.
    • Verifying patient eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements, as needed.
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Tracking, posting, and reconciling payments from insurance companies and patients.
    • Maintaining aging reports, proactively following up on outstanding balances.
    • Identifying and escalating accounts at risk of delayed or denied payment.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
    • Partnering with clinical and administrative staff to resolve discrepancies.
    • Providing clear and professional communication to patients regarding insurance coverage, balances, and payment plans.
    • Assisting with revenue cycle reporting and providing recommendations for process improvements.
  • Behaviors & Accountability:
    • Demonstrating integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
    • Fostering a team-first environment, where the needs of the team and organization are integral in day-to-day operations.
    • Demonstrating a customer service mindset with empathy for patients and families.
  •       Other duties, as assigned.

You will be successful, if:

  • You demonstrate a strong understanding of insurance billing, claims processing, and payment posting.
  • You are familiar with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
  • You demonstrate proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and billing software systems.
  • You have an excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • You exhibit excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking, and writing.
  • You have strong problem-solving abilities.
  • You are knowledgeable of revenue cycle management in both Oregon and Washington healthcare markets.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with people in all levels of the organization. 
  • You are able to work in a dynamic, high-demand, fast paced environment.
  • You demonstrate the ability to work well within deadlines and under pressure.
  • You possess a commitment to following up in a timely manner.
  • You have demonstrated professionalism and the ability to maintain patient and clinic confidentiality.
  • You are a strong negotiator for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You possess a high school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
  • You have two years of experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management preferred.
