We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Technician who brings respect, empathy, and kindness to our patients. This individual is responsible for supporting advanced psychiatric treatment services under the direction of licensed providers. This role incorporates two treatment modalities. One may be supervising the administration of intranasal esketamine to patients; including medication ordering, retrieval, patient education, inventory management, documentation, and disposal in strict accordance with Active Path and REMS protocols. The Mental Health Technician also manages prior authorizations, schedules patient appointments according to individualized treatment plans, and maintains ongoing communication with colleagues, pharmacies, Active Path providers, and referring providers to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care. In the second focal point, this role is responsible for administering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments under the direction of a provider. When working in the TMS capacity, the role requires charting and administrative work in addition to the hands-on delivery of treatment.
You will be responsible for:
- Esketamine Administration & Compliance
- Monitoring patients during administration of intranasal esketamine under provider supervision.
- Documenting daily notes in the EMR/EHR and managing paperwork for REMS compliance.
- Maintaining inventory, order medication and supplies, and ensure proper disposal of controlled substances.
- Adhering strictly to safety and compliance guidelines.
- Administrative & Patient Coordination
- Processing and tracking prior authorizations for esketamine treatment plans.
- Scheduling patient appointments according to established protocols.
- Facilitating communication between providers, pharmacies, patients, and referring providers.
- Collaborating with Patient Care Coordinators (PCCs) to support clinic-level operations and patient satisfaction.
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
- Delivering TMS treatments according to provider protocols.
- Setting up the TMS machine, monitoring treatment accuracy, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Resolving issues with coil placement, system setup, and patient concerns during sessions.
- Administering psychiatric rating scales and conducting patient assessments prior to treatment per protocol.

You will be successful, if:
- You have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, healthcare administration, or related field, preferred.
- You successfully complete TMS certification based on initial training, provided during the initial period of employment.
- Experience working with patients in a behavioral health setting, preferred.
- Experience working with patients who suffer from depression and anxiety, preferred.
- You possess Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), preferred.
- You are proficient in EMR/EHR recordkeeping (e.g., Tebra).
- You have prior experience in treatment note documentation, patient charting, and prior authorizations.
- You are able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- You possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- You maintain a professional clinical appearance and demeanor; scrubs necessary.
- You are able to maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
- You have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- You are a self-starter with strong attention to detail.
