Active Recovery TMS Shines Light on Depression Awareness Month with Social Campaign - Active Path in OR and WA

Take our online depression self-assessment

For the month of October, Active Recovery TMS is launching a Depression Awareness Month campaign on social media to bring further visibility to this mental health condition. The National Institute of Mental Health reports that depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the U.S., with an estimated 17.3 million adults (7.1% of all U.S. adults) suffering from at least one major depressive episode in 2017. The COVID-19 pandemic has in many instances exacerbated the mental health issues of many across the U.S. and the world. A September 2020 study from the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) found that depression is now three times more prevalent in the population than in pre-COVID times. The Kaiser Family Foundation found that the mental health of 53% of adults in the United States has been negatively impacted due to the worry and stress caused by the pandemic.

To bring more awareness to this mental health condition, Active Recovery TMS has launched a new social campaign called “A New Day is Possible”. The purpose of this campaign is to educate the general public on depression and show the possibilities available to sufferers of depression once they are able to start mental health treatment. The campaign will feature patient stories, depression treatment resources and more.
